Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk 2021
ESSSuper - 19 Apr 2021
On Sunday 18 April 2021 staff members from ESSSuper completed the Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk.
The Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk was started in 1989. This is a community event that welcomes individual runners or walkers, juniors, nippers, adults, and seniors. There's a category to match all levels of fitness.
"It was a great opportunity for us from ESSSuper to walk in solidarity with our Emergency services members, in respect of the greatest sacrifice that they pay every day to protect the community in line of duty and in memory of Angela Taylor." – Timothy M, ESSSuper Member Associate
About the Angela Taylor Memorial Walk/Run
On Thursday 27 March 1986, a car bomb exploded outside the police complex in Russell Street Melbourne. Constable Angela Rose Taylor took the full force of the explosion and on 20 April 1986 died in hospital. Angela was committed to helping others in the community, our police and emergency services continue to demonstrate those values. The Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk continues to be held in her honour and in honour of all that have died in the line of duty.
